Fostering Research Development

ADVANCE Project CREST is committed to providing wrap-around support for the women- and minority-identified faculty researchers in STEM and the social and behavioral sciences at UCCS. As part of this commitment, a Research Development Coordinator, Kelly McNear was hired in December 2021 to provide ongoing support for our campus researchers in the form of grant writing coaching, developing well-resourced budgets, responding to reviewers, and managing the grant submission process. Dr. McNear is also available to offer guidance in journal submissions and connecting faculty with the newly developed Research Network.

The Research Development Coordinator is funded with 50% grant funds, and 50% university funds which means this position is available to support all faculty regardless of discipline or identity. For more information on the support you can receive, see the list of resources below or contact Dr. McNear at kmcnear@uccs.edu.
