Within the Office of Research, we stimulate thinking to fuel innovative discoveries across academic disciplines. We elevate collaborative, cross-disciplinary research initiatives on campus to enhance the knowledge of our students and faculty, but also to benefit our region, state and nation.

The field of research spans undergraduate and graduate opportunities, and helps encourage critical and creative thought. A gift to our office means we can keep current projects funded, keep facilities up-to-date and expand the horizons of projects we embark upon.

We aim to provide our community with the support to think, analyze, reimagine, discover, and create, to grow and establish impactful research opportunities. Our programs include:

Connections we help forge

Essential connections are made between student researchers and faculty mentors through the Center for Student Research (CSR). The programs are geared toward enhancing and building new knowledge and initiatives. Many involved with the CSR are exposed to people across campus through their research which helps develop valuable connections. These connections help to promote a collaborative and engaging environment ensuring creative thought is nourished and innovative projects blossom.

How you can support our efforts

UCCS fosters a community of research by offering research resources to students, faculty and staff. Resources include access to tools, templates, events, workshops and experts within a designated field. Additional resources are supported through contributions to the Office of Research from donors. Areas of support include the Undergraduate Research Academy, the Center of Student Research, helping provide student mentorship and many others.

A WORD FROM THE ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR RESEARCH

'I got my research start right here at UCCS as an undergraduate research assistant in psychology more than 20 years ago. It was in the research lab - working closely with graduate students and my faculty mentors at UCCS - that the possibilities of knowledge creation opened up to me. We are committed to keeping that wonderfully wide world of research open and inclusive for all forms of inquiry, discovery, and creation that offer solutions to questions we have not even asked yet."

We know that research experience is a high impact practice to educate and excite students. We also know that quality scholarship and creative works transform lives. At UCCS we are training the next generation of engaged citizens who are ready to use their research skills to solve our most pressing community, nation, and worldwide problems. Make a gift to the Office of Research online via credit card or debit card by selecting your area of interest from our online giving portal.

Make your check out to the “CU Foundation” with the name of the fund in the memo box and send to the following address. If you have no fund in particular in mind, you can leave the memo space blank or choose a fund from our priority funds (listed above).

Designate your gift to the area that matters most to you by leaving a lasting legacy at the Office of Research. Making a gift in your will or living trust allows donors to make larger gifts than they otherwise might be able to give from their income alone. Gifts made in memory or in honor of a family member, teacher, student, or friend are generous and thoughtful ways to remember a person’s life and accomplishments. You can specify this when giving online or you can mention it to a member of our Advancement team when arranging to make a gift with their assistance.

Many employers allow tax-deductible giving through payroll deductions. Additionally, if you or your spouse are employed by a company that provides a matching gift program, your contribution to the Office of Research could be significantly supported. Check with your employer to see if you qualify.
